Justin Trudeau’s refusal to reverse McClintic transfer demonstrates ongoing failure as a leader

Watch David’s radio commentary below:

Terri-Lynne McClintic and Michael Rafferty kidnapped 8-year-old Tori Stafford. They tortured, raped, murdered, and buried the little girl and were sentenced for first degree murder. News last week came out that Corrections Canada has now transferred McClintic to the Okimaw Ohci Healing Lodge at Maple Creek.

This is a minimum security prison without walls around it. It is a place where children are allowed to be present to spend time with their mothers, and it’s a facility where inmates are often allowed day passes.

It is completely wrong to have moved McClintic there. This is a person who murdered a child, who was very disturbed even before she killed, and who has been violent since.

Goodale referred to this murder as “bad practices” and Justin Trudeau refused to reverse this decision. After public outcry, they say they will “review” it.

I will always raise issues that involve the safety and security of the people of Cypress Hills—Grasslands. This refusal to reverse the Corrections Canada move demonstrates, once again, Justin Trudeau’s ongoing failure as a leader.
