Ralph Goodale and Justin Trudeau have been playing games with Canadians. They transferred child-killer Terri-Lynne McClintic to the Okimaw Ohci Healing Lodge in Maple Creek – a minimum security prison with no walls or fences. Then, when Canadians objected, Trudeau’s Liberals deliberately mislead Canadians by implying she had been in a similar prison in Ontario. They said they could do nothing.
Canadians said ‘enough is enough.’ Last week, an online petition I sponsored as your MP collected its 10,000th signature. Last Wednesday, Goodale finally told Corrections Services to review the transfers of, as he put it, “medium-security women offenders to facilities that do not have a directly controlled perimeter.” That means, ‘no fences.’
By Thursday, the father of the little girl murdered by McClintic received word she was back in a facility that has fences and walls around it. Oh yes, and in the middle of this, Trudeau called us “ambulance chasers” for bringing up the issue.
He didn’t do the right thing because he’s an honourable person. Justice has finally been served because of you – the thousands of Canadians who let their voices be heard.
