Another week, another disaster in Ottawa.
Last week, Justin Trudeau managed to submerge us unnecessarily in a trade war with the United States. The Liberal government’s amateurish approach to trade issues ensured that NAFTA discussion has not gone well. President Trump has now imposed sanctions; we’ve threatened to impose sanctions of our own, and can’t even do that properly. Every call that I’ve got regarding tariffs have been from businesses that would be punished not from the US tariffs, but the Canadian counter duties.
This past week, the Liberals finally passed their Carbon Tax bill but they won’t say how much it’s going to cost, and the province of Ontario is now against it as well. Also last week, they set up a $7 billion slush fund for the Cabinet to use as they choose, without accountability to Parliament.
This next week, we’ll see the legalization of marijuana and the opportunity for some well-connected people to make a lot of money as they ruin the lives of many of our young people. It seems like the only things Justin Trudeau is good at is punishing Canadians and rewarding Liberals.
