Time to Challenge Compelled Speech?
From the ‘Law and Liberty’ site we have an interesting article discussing the (relatively) new phenomenon of ‘compelled speech’- that is, an increasing number of educational institutions have adopted political statements that they require employees and prospective employees to affirm publicly. If they do not, they may be excluded from consideration. Although this is written from an American perspective, Canada is not immune. In fact the most egregious example of this occurring was seen in the Trudeau governments attempts to include such a declaration for its Summer Student Program.
